Disasters at Sea: Season 2 Airs this Weekend!

I have been waiting and WAITING for the opportunity to discuss this - Disasters at Sea is back for a second season! When it comes to entertainment this year, we’ve seen release dates rescheduled again and again, but I am so excited that we have a confirmed date.

So set your DVR’s, because Sunday, October 18th, 2020 at 8:00pm EST/9:30pm NDT we get the first episode of Season 2.

This season kicks off with the story of the Queen of the North, a passenger ferry that runs aground off Canada’s west coast and sends investigators down a winding road with conflicting information from the crew.

The rest of the season is jam packed with stories that span from container ships to fishing vessels. Get ready for some brilliant television!

Episodes to come
On October 25th, we get the Arctic Rose, a Bering Sea fishing boat that sinks and only the captain has time to put on his survival suit.

November 1st brought us the story Norman Atlantic, a ferry that spontaneously bursts into flames and traps all 400 passengers on board. Questions are raised immediately; how did a modern ferry catch fire? Why was the evacuation so difficult?

Next, November 8th and the Lady Mary, a family-owned scallop boat that sinks in the middle of the night. The lone survivor, investigators realize, isn’t sure what happened that sent her to the bottom.

November 15th brings us the story of the El Faro, a container ship that sinks while trapped in Hurricane Joaquin with a loss of all 33 hands. Investigators work to recover the voyage data recorder from the wreck site to better understand what happened.

Our last week, November 22nd, brings us to New York City. The Staten Island Ferry smashes into a pier, killing 11 people and injuring more. The immediate question: what went wrong?
